The best for a child will certainly be green asparagus, which do not need to be peeled, and which are the most delicate. They are more white-faced and require peeling: however, they are also valuable and good to give if we have the opportunity.
How to prepare asparagus?
- We cut off the lower phlegmon of the shoot.
- Then remove the skin with a sharp knife below the head (white asparagus must be peeled, greens not - just cut off the tips).
- We wash under running water.
- We dry it.
- We cook whole: in a wide pot or standing tall (the heads should be above the water level). First, bring the water to a boil, then put the shoots. We can add some butter to boiling water.

White asparagus should be medium thick. You have to peel them off, so it's good that something remains after this procedure. If we buy green asparagus, we can also choose thin.
Asparagus cream - a recipe for babies
It is worth preparing asparagus cream for the youngest children.
We remove the woody ends, thoroughly wash the shoots and cook in a small amount of water. We cook the stalks first. When they are soft, we throw in the heads. The soup is wiped or mixed, we can season with dill, add half yolks, and for children not burdened with allergies, mix the whole with natural yogurt.
Baked asparagus for children over a year
Wash asparagus, remove woody parts, put in an ovenproof dish, sprinkle with olive oil, add freshly squeezed garlic, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and put in for about 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
Asparagus soup for one and a half children
Prepare: a bunch of white asparagus, two tablespoons of butter, two onions, half a glass of 18% cream, white pepper, a tablespoon of chopped dill, four tablespoons of puff pastry.
Wash, peel, cut asparagus, put aside the heads. Pour water, cook for about 15 minutes. We put the heads and cook for 5 minutes. Peel, chop and fry onions in butter.
